Core Values

What we value

Creativity

Given the severity of the climate crisis, our reaction must be audacious and gallant. We welcome fresh approaches and experimentation because we understand that the crisis calls for creative problem solving.

Fight for justice

A fight for justice is being waged in the war against climate change. People all throughout the world are experiencing the effects, but those who have contributed the least to the issue are the ones who are suffering the most.

That inequity must be addressed in the work we undertake and the methods we employ. This entails paying attention to the communities who are being affected the most, elevating the voices that are being silenced, and taking the lead from those who are managing the situation on the ground.

Transparency and accountability

We work to be open and transparent while upholding everyone’s right to privacy and safeguarding people’s safety in order to ensure the integrity of our work.

We have a responsibility to one another, the individuals and organisations we deal with, and those who will be harmed by our work. We make an effort to respect the bonds we form with one another.

Partnerships

The climate crisis affects all of these things simultaneously, not simply the environment, social justice, or the economy. Working together is the only way we will be powerful enough to exert pressure on governments and confront every emitting business such as fossil fuels.

This entails uniting people and forming different coalitions, including student organisations, labour unions, human rights, and social justice organisations; marginalised communities, faith communities, primary schools, secondary schools, universities, corporate executives, and all those who support the need for transformative change.

Care and trust

We look out for our own needs as well as those of our communities, respect one another in our nonviolent method of doing this work, and impart this spirit and knowledge to others.

We value the expertise and knowledge of our partners and communities since nobody has all the answers. We do so in order to learn from them and progress with them.
