AFRICAN INSTITUTE FOR CLIMATE ACTION AND JUSTICE (AFICAAJ)

In order to create a just and inclusive approach that is not only legal but ethical, AFICAAJ, a national women-led climate change based non-profit organisation, focuses on empowering vulnerable groups of society in Uganda's local communities, especially women, youth, girls, and children to be at the forefront of climate action. This fosters climate action initiatives that are more effective, improve people's livelihoods, and create healthy ecosystems.

WHAT WE DO

1.Promotion of Gender responsive climate action and justice

Gender responsive climate action and justice is essential for achieving human rights, sustainable development and peace. Climate change affects women, men, boys and girls differently, depending on their social, economic and cultural contexts.

2.Renewable energy transition

AFICAAJ supports the renewable energy agenda as part of the key ways to curb greenhouse gas emissions and tackle the climate crisis before it gets worse. We believe in a just and fast transition to 100% renewable energy for all.

3.Ecosystem restoration

In line with the Sustainable Development goals especially Goals 6 and 13 and in support of other national, regional and international multi-lateral environment and biodiversity conventions and agreements
